Viewpoints in Medellín
BEFORE TRAVELING TO MEDELLIN YOU HAVE TO KNOW THIS! Did you know that Medellin is full of viewpoints? I have had the opportunity to live in this city for more than 17 years and I can attest to that. But I will only tell you about the ones that are easier to visit and the ones that in my opinion are the coolest.

LA PALMAS VIEWPOINT
The Mirador de las Palmas or the Miradores, because there are three of them that you will find on Avenida las Palmas, are located in the upper part of the town along the entire road that leads from Medellín to the airport. So from this place you can have a panoramic view of the city.
You can get there by Uber, taxi or bus. If you have your own transportation it would be much better. Instead you can enjoy the Paisa cuisine, you will find the famous chocolate with cheese or enjoy charcoal-grilled chorizo and more.
PICACHO VIEWPOINT
For me and based on my experience, it is the one with the best view of Medellín. It is located in the El Picacho neighborhood, and although it does not have a public transportation route, it has good access.
The view from the place is extraordinary, you can see the entire Aburra Valley from north to south, the sensation of having a million stars so close makes your senses vibrate, once you are there you don't want to leave.
What I love most is watching the evening fall, that lapse of time between night and day, it's pure magic.
An ideal place to take some good photos and videos from another planet, the place is quiet and safe and its facilities have parking for both cars and motorcycles.
SAN FELIX VIEWPOINT
The San Félix viewpoint is perhaps the furthest from the city, it is about 40 minutes or more from the city, it is on the road that leads from Medellín to San Pedro de los Milagros.
In this area you will find several restaurants, bars and cafes. There is also an area where paragliding companies operate. On weekends it is usually filled with local tourists and very few foreigners.
From the Vista el Vuelo viewpoint you can enjoy a spectacular view of the entire northern part of the Aburra Valley. At night, bonfires are made and there are other places where romantic soundtracks are played, ideal for couples.
SKY VIEWPOINT
The Mirador El Cielo is more of a family and recreational space, without leaving aside its beautiful view located in the southeast of the city, it is located on the road to the Manzanillo village, in Belén Altavista.
On site you will find restaurants, a bar, a mini children's farm, a paintball field, and a shooting range.
THE EIGHTH WONDER VIEWPOINT AND THE BRANCH
These two viewing points are ideal restaurants for dinner, and they have an extensive menu. You will find typical food, grilled meats, fast food and liquor.
They are a little more expensive places, but that doesn't mean we'll forget about their great view. They are located in Sabaneta, and can be reached by Uber, taxi or private vehicle.
Recommendation
1-Remember to bring a jacket because it is cold at all the viewpoints.
2-Don't forget to bring your multimedia equipment, camera, drone or cell phone.
3- It is normal for popular viewpoints to be used as a tolerance zone, so there is no need to be alarmed.
